Objective: This evidence-based course provides participants with an up-to-date look at a variety of drug classes which impact the practice of dental hygiene, including over-the-counter herbal medications, new local anesthetics, antibiotics and antibiotic prophylaxis, and pain control. Emphasis will be placed on appropriate precautions when treating patients taking various drugs and on the safe and effective prescription and administration of drugs in the dental practice.
