OSHA&HIPAA Requirement 

Training & Updates 

 

Kayce Hollingsworth, MS, EFDA is the owner of

Dental OSHA Compliance Services, LLC 

She lectures and consults on dental compliance to

large groups and individual offices. She is also a

Territory Manager for Shofu Dental Corporation.

She has over 25 years of clinical and practical

experience as an Expanded Duties

Dental Assistant Certified through

the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry

and is a Registered Dental Assistant

with the state of Texas. She holds both

Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in

Corporate and Organizational Communication from

Northeastern University. She previously served as a Dental Assistant Instructor, Clinical Consultant, and lecturer through  A& M Heath Science Center (Baylor) College of Dentistry giving the State Board Dental Assistant Registration Course, the Nitrous Oxide Course, and other continuing education courses for Dentists, Hygienists, and Dental Assistants.

 

Course Overview:

OSHA updates will be presented along with bloodborne pathogens, infection control and a close look at Covid 19 policies  in dental practices. This course fulfills the annual requirement for Infection Control training and OSHA updates to comply with Federal and State laws.  We will clarify any confusion between the state and federal mandates along with the proposed CDC guidelines.

HIPAA requirements will also be covered to maintain office compliance with patient’s private health information and disclosures. 

Course description

The OSHA Updates program is specifically designed to inform and educate dental professionals on safe work processes and best practices for safety and Infection Control compliance. A special look at Covid 19 and  Airborne Transmission Prevention recommendations will also be examined.  A comprehensive review of regulations, required documentation, and systems implementation will be covered during this lecture.  A review of the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, education expectations, labeling and posting requirements, proper PPE implementation along with employer and employee compliance requirements will be outlined for practical application in the dental office environment. 

Objectives:

  • Acquire updated & current information about OSHA safety practices and policies along with HIPAA privacy policy information and practice compliance.

  • Understand best practices for all mandates involving Infection Control requirements and Covid 19 interim systems.

  • Obtain annual federal mandates for compliance training and applications for dentistry.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

 

Cancellation requests need to be submitted in writing via email or postal mail. All requests must include a reason for cancellation by September 8, 2021.  A $20.00 administrative fee will be applied.  No refunds will be accepted or granted including absences due to illness, weather, late arrivals, parking difficulties, or other reasons. Refunds will not be processed for any requests received after September 8, 2021.
